A-PLUS GREEN ENERGY SERVICES was founded in 1985 by Patricia Van Guilder. In 2009 she in partnered with James Blomquist to enhance the services offered.

With over 35 years of experience in the residential, and commercial building industry, we can assist you with a unlimited variety of construction conditions.

Patricia has been performing Energy Calculations since 1982. A Graduate of UCSC, specializes in all phases of residential design and construction, Plan review of construction documents for architects, engineers, builders, developers and home owners for energy compliance with current energy code in the state of California. Make recommendations on energy saving features ie windows, HVAC, materials and methods used in the construction of residential buildings. Recommend materials and methods used to make homes comfortable and environmentally safe and responsible.

A graduate of Chico State University Department of Industrial Technology, Jim has spent the last 35
years expanding his skills on a vast variety of projects both commercial and residential. With 20+ years spent in school construction as a General Engineering and General Building Contractor he carries an extremely diverse background into his energy consults. Eight years ago after installing the first residential wind generator in Santa Clara county his commitment to energy conservation has steadily grown. After completing his ICC Building Inspector Certifications, he was introduced to the HERS program and saw this as the place to best showcase his abilities and commitment to energy conservation. He has continued to expand his knowledge with extensive Building Performance and Green Building training.
